Pricing and quotes

How much do movers cost in Austin?

Local moves in Austin are billed by the hour, and the rate depends on crew size. The total depends on how much you have, stairs and elevators, how far the truck parks from each door, the drive between homes and how ready things are when the crew arrives. Third-party guides put the Austin market around $120 to $180 an hour for two movers and a truck. Request a written quote for your exact rate.

Is the quote free?

Yes. Quotes are free with no obligation. You can request one online in about a minute, call, or text us.

How do you price local moves?

Local moves are billed hourly by crew size. Your written quote lists the hourly rate, how time is counted and any minimum before you book.

How do you price long-distance moves?

Long-distance moves are quoted on distance and the size of your load, plus any packing or special handling. You get a written estimate first.

How are commercial moves priced?

Commercial moves are quoted by scope after a walkthrough. The proposal covers crew, timing, access and special handling.

Are there hidden fees?

Your written quote lists the rate, crew size and what is included. If the job changes on move day, like extra items or a long carry nobody mentioned, we talk about it with you before it affects the bill.

What payment methods do you accept?

Cash, check, card and digital payments.

Should I tip my movers?

Tipping is never required and always appreciated. A common range is $20 to $40 per mover for a standard local move, and more for long, hot or heavy days.

Booking and scheduling

How far in advance should I book?

Two to three weeks ahead for most local moves, and more for summer weekends and month-end dates. Long-distance moves should be booked three to four weeks out. Short notice? Call, because we often have openings.

Do you offer same-day or last-minute moves?

What is the busiest time to move in Austin?

May through August, the last few days of every month, and August near UT when student leases turn over. Mid-month weekdays are the easiest to book.

Can I change my move date?

Call us as soon as you know. We will do our best to move your date, and your booking confirmation explains the details.

Move day

How many movers do I need?

Studios and one-bedrooms are usually a two-person job. Two- and three-bedroom homes often need three. Larger homes, long carries or lots of stairs can justify four. We recommend a crew size when you request a quote.

Do you bring the truck and equipment?

Yes. We bring the truck, furniture pads, shrink wrap, dollies, straps and tools. For labor-only jobs, you provide the truck or container.

Do you disassemble and reassemble furniture?

Yes. Standard disassembly and reassembly of furniture we move, like beds and tables, is included.

Do you protect floors and walls?

Yes. We use floor protection and padding where it is needed and pad door frames and banisters on tight paths.

What should I do before the movers arrive?

Finish packing and seal boxes, clear a path to the door, reserve elevators or docks, set aside valuables and essentials to move yourself, and make sure the truck has a place to park.

Do I need to be home during the move?

Someone who can make decisions should be there at the start and the end. In between, being reachable by phone is usually enough.

What will movers not move?

Hazardous materials like gasoline, propane tanks, paint thinner, ammunition and pool chemicals. We also recommend you carry cash, jewelry, medications and important documents yourself.

Do you move in the Texas summer heat?

Yes. We start early, take water breaks and load quickly to protect heat-sensitive items like candles, electronics and plants.

Can you just load or unload my rental truck or container?
